Revolution Martial Arts allows kids as young as 3 years old to join in the Tang Soo Do Tots classes. You can get your child started in the kids karate classes at anytime, just call or stop in to sign up.

Revolution instructors understand that everyone has their own reasons for wanting to have their child join a martial arts class and we are here to help you and your child achieve these goals. Each child that signs up for our Tang Soo Do class is eligible to have a private 1 hour lesson.

It is a good idea to keep your kids active by getting them involved in Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate). Not only does participating in the class help keep them fit, it will also help develop them mentally. Kids that participate in classes tend to develop better study habits which helps them with their school work. Your child will learn leadership skills and develop better hand eye coordination.

Kids have a choice of a variety of styles of martial arts to choose from, and Tang Soo Do can help build self confidence. Participating in class will also help your child learn patience, self control, humility, self discipline and concentration. These are all key elements to help get your child started on the path to success.

All our kids classes have a balance of discipline and fun which keeps your child wanting to attend class. Your child learns respect that will carry over from the martial arts class to their school and home activities. We encourage you to bring your child to Revolution Martial Arts and let them try a class.

Instructors at Revolution Martial Arts will give detailed instructions to all students during the class. This will insure that your child will learn the proper techniques so they can perform the self-defense movements effectively.

Revolution Martial Arts offers several different martial art styles for adults to choose from. An example of one style is Tang Soo Do (korean karate) which provides a great workout for an adult. In one single martial art class doing Tang Soo Do you can burn up to 680 calories during the workout. Whether you are in shape already or could stand to drop some weight Tang Soo Do is a good workout for you.
The great thing about practicing Tang Soo Do with Revolution Martial Arts of Cedar Rapids is that you workout to your ability. The instructors will provide a challenging workout during each class no matter which style you choose, but only ask that you do what you can. It doesn’t matter what your physical abilities are when you start, you just go at your own pace with the help of instructors to improve your ability and to help you grow as a person.

Our instructors understand that every person who joins the school will do so for different reasons and will have different goals. As respected martial art instructors they are here to help you achieve your goals by providing you with quality training and pushing you to do better every time you attend a class.

Other styles offered at Revolution Martial Arts include Wing Chun, Tai Chi and Shaolin-Do. Every style has something different to offer to the students. Some students may even wish to train in multiple styles to become a more well rounded martial artist.

Participating in our Cedar Rapids adult karate classes will not only improve your physical ability but it will also increase your mental ability. Practicing martial arts will improve your concentration and self confidence which will help you improve in your job performance.

We try to attend as many regional tournaments as possible as a school, but we do not require any students to compete at the tournaments if they do not want to. If you choose not to compete in tournaments, we hope that you will attend some to support your fellow students that do compete but again that is not required either. The tournaments offer competition for sparring, forms, and weapon forms. Several of the classes offered at Revolution Martial Arts will offer training in different martial art weapons.


  1. Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled class time.
  2. Your uniform MUST be clean and presentable. (No stains or excess wrinkles. If so, you will not be able to take part in class.)
  3. Remove your shoes upon entering the studio. No shoes allowed on the training floor.
  4. Do not leave personal items in the studio. We are not responsible for lost or misplaced items.
  5. For viewers: Please turn cell phone or tablets on silent mode. If you need to take a call, please step outside.
  6. Loud and inappropriate behavior is not allowed.
  7. No food or drinks allowed on the training floor.
  8. All students must maintain a high level of personal hygiene. Please keep finger and toe nails trimmed.
  9. All student must remove all jewelry before entering class. This includes Fitbits and earrings.
  10. If a student is late for class, please wait at the edge of the training floor until the instructor acknowledges you. Then ask permission to enter class and line up in the back of the class.
